As part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, a theatrical performance was held on August 15, 2022 at the auditorium of the Parmeshwari Devi Dhenuka Senior Secondary Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Vrindavan to commemorate the first martyr of Mathura, Devi Singh. The play was performed by trained boys and girls from the Bal Rang Karyashala of the Geeta Research Institute and Rasleela Academy. The event was organized by the Mathura-Vrindavan Development Authority.
The revised script and direction of the theatrical performance were done by Dr. Umesh Chandra Sharma, a specialist in Braj culture. Co-director Chandraprataap Sikarwar was the coordinator of the Geeta Research Institute and Rasleela Academy. Prior to the performance, children had rehearsed in the auditorium of the Geeta Research Institute for a week.
During the performance, Nagendra Pratap, Chief Executive Officer of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, Rajesh Kumar, Secretary of the Mathura-Vrindavan Development Authority, Padmanabh Goswami, Secretary of the school management committee, principals, teachers, and many prominent people from Vrindavan were present. The event was coordinated by research coordinators Dr. Rashmi Verma and Deepak Sharma.
